Owners of homes in Peoria benefit from initiatives

The City of Peoria Arizona applied for a grant of ten million dollars in 2009 as part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The request is now pending. The overall goal of the program is to increase the rate of homeownership of Peoria Arizona houses and reduce the number of abandoned homes.

Some of the goals of the plan will be to improve currently foreclosed or distressed homes in Peoria so they can be effectively marketed and sold. Reducing the number of Peoria Arizona homes for sale will help stabilize prices and give low and moderate-income families an opportunity to purchase homes in Peoria.

The plan should help the economy by supporting households and neighborhoods. The estimated completion date is September, 2012. If the grant is approved, residents and prospective buyers for homes in Peoria should begin to see results very soon.
