Wickenburg is located approximately 65 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix. It was founded in 1862 by Henry Wickenburg, a prospector, who discovered the Vulture Mine from which more than $30 million worth of gold has been dug. Wickenburg is known as the “Dude Ranch Capital of the World and is truly a spectacular town.
While walking through downtown Wickenburg, you’ll find an array of western-themed shops, restaurants and saloons. For 70 years, this town holds a 3-day celebration called “Gold Rush Days” which includes a parade, real-life rodeo, Western BBQ, car show, art show and much more.
Wickenburg’s major attractions include The Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Hassayampa River Preserve, Vulture Peak Trail, Deep Creek Lake Area, Kay El Bar Guest Ranch, Vulture Gold Mine Tours, and Del Web Center for the Performing Arts.
