Five Reasons We Love Scottsdale
While we try not to play favorites when it comes to our lovely state of Arizona, there are a handful of neighborhoods we love to work, play and live in… and Scottsdale is one of them! Even if you don’t currently live in Arizona it’s likely you’ve heard of this popular tourist destination that is equally adored by its residents.
There are more than a few reasons why we love Scottsdale and understand why so many new residents continue to flock to the area. And we’re happy to tell you what makes Scottsdale so special!
We enjoy warm weather all year.
Sure, this is a given for almost any part of Arizona but many of our retirees come to Scottsdale from the north for the temperate and comfortable weather. As you know, Arizona is known to hit triple digits when it comes to the summer weather reports but we’re lucky to have little humidity during the monsoon season, making it feel a little cooler than it is!
It’s a great place to retire… or raise a family.
You likely know all the great reasons to retire in Scottsdale, but what about raising a family? It’s pretty great to do that here, too. There’s a large number of Gen X and millennial residents raising their young families in the Scottsdale area due to its great schools and proximity to Arizona State University. It’s also a great place for singles!
With a growing number of jobs coming to Scottsdale and a branch of the Mayo Clinic calling the area home, many professionals and their families happily relocate to the area. Scottsdale isn’t just a hot spot for retirees! We welcome all ages.
It’s an outdoor enthusiast’s dream.
It’s also no secret that Arizona offers every kind of terrain for the mountain climber, hiker, skier, fisher, golfer, etc. In Scottsdale you’ll find the McDowell Sonoran Preserve which is made up of 30,000 acres of breathtaking desert scenery. You can also enjoy a bit of scenery with Scottsdale’s canals, lakes and parks. And we all know that Scottsdale is the perfect destination for the avid golfer in the family with its championships courses and high end resorts.
We didn’t forget about the foodies!
Did you know Scottsdale has more than 790 restaurants? Believe it! Downtown Scottsdale is attracting chefs from all over the country bringing your endless options with their innovative cuisines. The beer scene is a popular one here in Scottsdale as well. So, after hitting the links, it’s also the perfect spot for a cold brew!
We have something for everyone.
This isn’t just a town for hikers and golfers. Scottsdale offers activities for every variety of interests. Retail therapy more your speed? Enjoy high end shopping at Fashion Square, or stroll through the boutiques in our buzzing downtown area.
Artists or lovers of the arts can enjoy the seemingly endless number of galleries in Downtown Scottsdale, as well as the Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of the West, the Fiesta Bowl Museum, and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
If athletics is your passion, purely in observation, Scottsdale also hosts the Phoenix Open golf tournament, and spring training for several pro teams.
